My name off mortgage

What is the name of your state? Florida. MY ex and I broke up over a year ago. I moved out & let him stay in the house. We were never married. Now I'm planning on marrying someone else. What do I do to get my name off the mortgage? Will I have to pay fees? What should we expect? What if he happens to be behind on payments?

they report it to your credit report and if neccessary, take legal action against you to collect as well as the same for the ex.

He will need to refinance, but if he is behind on payments, his chances of getting another mortgage are slim. You've been broken up for barely a year, and you're already engaged again?

The other option is if they are tenants in common is to bring a partition lawsuit and hope the sale brings enough to pay off the mortgage balance.

Which can be costly and timely.
