Need Forebearance Help Please!

What is the name of your state? Oregon

I posted in this forum over 6 months ago about going into a forebearance agreement with our Mortgage Company. My husband and I have followed everything they asked for: a lump sum payment plus 6 monthly payments-May to Oct-paid by the 1st of every month that ended this month Oct 1st. I called after making the last payment and was told that our next payment was due on November 1st, with a 15 day grace period.

However, tonight, upon checking our account online, I saw that after crediting the payment we just made, we owe another payment on October 1st plus a $229 late fee! Or in other words 2 payments in one month (within days of each other) Given that it's now Oct 4th, I also don't know if we are now considered late paying this 2nd payment given the terms of the forebearance which are strictly on the 1st with no grace period! I looked through the forebearance agreement paperwork and no where does it say anything about this!

I am pretty upset to say the least and would greatly appreciate a reply since it's doubtful that I will be able to sleep tonight thinking we are still in forebearance or worse, now in pre-foreclosure.

Thanks in advance!

Well, no replies yet.

Has someone been in a forebearance and can share about their experience if they can't answer my question? That way, I can figure out what the sequence of events is supposed to be.

Thanks!

You didn't ask a question so I'm not sure exactly what you want help with.

What I gather is, they told you on the phone you were current with the forebearance plan but on-line says differently. Call them back and ask why the discrepancy.

If you want anything else, please post back and pose a question.

I agree.

Call them. Often the on-line stuff is WAY behind real world.

you may still owe...

What probably happened is that the payments you have been making where in arrears (paying sept in oct, june in july, etc...)
So, it is probably accurate that you owe for Oct. If you fell behind, you could have easily missed a payment. Make sense.
Of course, as earlier stated: CALL YOUR MORTGAGE SERVICER.
they don't want your house, just their money.
Good communication with your servicer will prevent future stress.
Good luck!
