Okay here goes. I got divorced back in at the at the end of 2005 and my ex-wife left the house. She wanted me to re-fi the house in 6 months. Because of some leans on the home I wasn't able to re-fi at the time. Anyway she diidn't make a big deal about it at the time (although she did threaten to kick me out a few times by putting the house up for sale). I had planned to re-fi the home in a few months (end of summer).
She recently started to buy her own home and her new mortgage company on hetr new home asked her for either a letter from me as to when I was going to refinance or she needed to have a "deed of trust" signed out to me. I'm confused between a "deed release" and a "deed of trust".
I really didn't want to sign any letter. And I'd rather have the "deed release" so I don't have to spend a bunch of my own money refinancing the home I'm in right now. What would be my best strategy? Whats the difference between a "deed release" and a "deed of trust"?What is the name of your state? | |
