Question

in need of legal advice asap

What is the name of your state?va. Back in April my brother died and he had
a house in Tenn. I assumed the house would revert to the father of his
ex-wife since he was the cosigner on the loan. Recently I was contacted by
the mother of my brothers ex-wife. She stated to me that they no longer
wanted the house and were unable to sell the house and were instructed by
the bank to allow the loan to go into default and they would then persue me
for the note since I was the next of kin. How can this be legal? I never
signed any paper/contract on the loan note or deed. My brother did not have
a Will naming anyone beneficiary. I have spoken to a va. mortgage rep and
a loan officer and both stated this was not legal for them to do. I am seeking
legal advise for peace of mind on this matter that I can not be held accountable for this loan.

My response:

So, the mother of your brothers ex-wife is a scam artist. What else is new, being that she's from one of the Dufus States?

I'll bet she asked you for money, too.
