What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Nebraska- Ive been seeing a lawyer well over a year to settle a home forclosure. A retainer of $800, plus $150 per month, all cash. This has been draggi g on with no results. I have never recieved a monthly itemized statement- and he is reluctant to do so. What are my rights?

You have a right to know from your attorney on what the attorney is spending your money.

Here is a link to Nebraska Attorney Rules of Professional Conduct:
https://www.law.cornell.edu/ethics/ne/code/NE_CODE.HTM

See Rule 1.4 (a)(4), Communication, and Rule 1.5, Fees.

I can't explain your attorney's reluctance to provide you with an itemized accounting.
