Once the summons is filed with the court...vultures come out..

What is the name of your state? FL

I posted below about how a lawyer filed for forclosure on my home, even though we are not in default. Since it was Friday I didn't get to get much done - though I spoke with someone in the lawyers office and I am waiting for a call back.

But, since the paper work is filed in the court, I guess people check that every day? and I am getting offers to buy my home via mail.

I am so worried people are just going to be stopping by my house next. I have three small children, and really don't like the feeling of this. I guess if I was actually in foreclosure, I would have no choice in this, but I am not. Plus, now my neighbors think we are in foreclosure since they copied the homeowners association! I am so embarassed. Do I have any rights here?

I just want them to get that paperwork ammended or something quick so that I don't have to suffer hundreds of scammers mailing me and stopping by. What can I do to encourage the lawyer to address this immediately!!

These guys jump all over every public listing. They're looking for an easy sale and are unlikely to spend any time coming buy or bothering your children. If they were really going to spend any concentrated time they'd make a bona fide offer right away rather than sending you fishing mail.
