please help

I live in florida. My home was forclosed. Auctioned and the bank bought it. The banks attoney sent us a letter saying to turn over the keys and be out by the 3rd. Can they just throw us out with no where to go and not even a eviction notice? or court order to vacate?

Uh, wasn't the notice of foreclosure enough notice for you? It takes about 5 months to foreclose and you are now surprised you have to move?

If you do not move out, then you will be evicted, which is cut and dried since the house was foreclosed upon so it should be quick. It looks like it could take up to ~ a week. Then the sheriff will "escort" you out of the house.

I feel your pain, Toni. I also live in Florida and am actually doing a voluntary foreclosure on my place. But as smart-alecky as the previous poster was, I was under the impression you were given ample time to vacate the premises. Maybe you could talk to the powers that be and see if you can get at least a 2-week extension.

smart alecky? the first paragraph may have been a bit smart alecky but I look at it more as realistic.

There was nothing smart alecky about the 2nd paragraph and even explained that the notice itself was not an eviction but an eviction can be quite quick given the circumstances.

People that know they are being foreclosed on should live by the Boy Scout motto:

be prepared.
