Is property mine after death of owner?

What is the name of your state? Missouri
I took out a mortgage loan against the house I was living in that belonged to mother-in-law. She signed as primary and me as secondary. I also signed deed of trust. Loan amount went to making improvements on home and monthly payments were made to mother-in-law with intention of taking out another loan to buy house. mother-in-law passed away. No will or beneficiary deed was signed. family says they own the house and I get nothing. Bank says i now own house. who's right?

At this moment... unless the property was titled in JTROS form (or similar) neither of you is right. The property is owned by her estate until such time as a probate court orders otherwise.

Absent a will, her estate will be distributed in accordance with her states intestate law:
