Property is not discharged after full payment

What is the name of your state? CA

I bought a house in 2000 and financed though a mortgage borker. After one year refinanced with partial payment. This also through same broker. In 2002 I paid-off the house. When I went to finance my house I leanred that first loan is not discharged from the property. I call the mortgage broker 6 weeks ago. He said he will fix it. Till now he did not do anything. Whennever I call, he says he is working on this issue.

Now what are my options?

Thanks

**A: you are supposed to use an escrow/title company. Call them.

**A: what? Did you or did you NOT use an escrow title company to complete your refinance?

**A: shall we dance? Look, the escrow/title company is the one you need to be writing to. They should have paid off the first mortgage. Now go to it.

Very good advice. Stop blaming your broker; he wasn't the person responsible for the certificate of satisfaction and is trying to be helpful to you by working toward a solution anyway.
