Quit Claim-Is this all I need to sign? What is the name of your state? OhioMy husband is getting a loan to refinance our home. When he does this Iam signing the house and property over to him.Am I correct to say all I have to sign at the time of closing is a quit claim deed? Thanks Pattyab47 |

However, I suggest you do NOT sign the quit claim until AFTER he can show you a 'paid in full' on the current mortgage (with YOUR name on it).

Why has he spent over $1.35M in legal fees to block disclosure... rather than spend $12 for a VALID birth cert to settle the matter? The 'certificate' he has presented doesn't qualify to get a drivers license, wouldn't allow a child to qualify for Little League, or for a real citizen to get a US passport! |

| You can attend the closing and see the HUD 1 showing the payoff of the refinanced mortgage, and you can request to see that lender's payoff statement to be certain it matches. The QC deed is released to the closer, not your ex, to only be recorded upon payoff and disbursement. In my state, for example, there is a State Transfer Return that must accompany any deed presented for recording - even on exempt transactions. If your state has anything similar, you may also be required to sign that, as well.
