Legal remifications on manufactured home foreclosure

What is the name of your state? Texas
My husband and I have been pre-approved through our local bank for the purchase of a home for which we have placed a bid on and hope to get this home and land. However, we have a manufactured/mobile home for which we still have a considerably large bal on the mortgage and we have had the home for 9 years this Oct. We feel it is going to be difficult for us to get rid of the home. The home sits on family land that is not ours and is in no way attached in mortgage with the home. So if worse comes to worse and we get the other home and allow them to reposes the home what will the legal remifications be on us and our credit for the great state of Texas. I did have a brother some years ago allowed them to repo his manufactured home and nothing happened except that his credit reflected it and it stayed on their 7 years. I do have the home for sale in every local expanded shopper I can find. We have lots of calls but no signaficant bites. We are now including an above ground pool and storage building to see if this will help the sale. Also can someone explain what is meant by short sale? Thanks!
