Recourse vs non-course statesWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Mississippi. Is Mississippi a recourse or a non-recourse state regarding home forclosures? I currently live in Alabama, which I understand from a local attorney is a recourse state, and my property that is about to be forclosed is in Mississippi. Will my current status as a resident of Alabama have a legal impact on a foreclosure in Mississippi? |

| The rules apply to where the loan was made (most likely in the state where the property is). Yes, Mississippi is a recourse state.
