refi, lien, mess

What is the name of your state? Washington state

I will attempt short sweet, to the point.

1) child support ordered 1992
2) person got behind
3) statement from state of Florida stated child support behind 7000.00 in
year 2000
4) person has been paying current and back support religiously each month
(to the Florida dept of child support via garnishment)
5) received another statement this year stating child support behind 37000.00
6) we researched records, believe there is a GRAVE error
7) this year state of WASHINGTON sends us letter stating they are placing
lien on our property in Washington state.
8) we contact Washington state, explain error, and contest. they state they
believe the error and told us the lien was removed until they can figure
it out with Florida.
9) we decided to refinance the home. everything went through and we were
told all thats left is to make sure the title search shows no liens.
10) I went to state auditors site, looked up his name and records.
11) there is a record there stating "LIEN", but it states "TEMP" and there
is no amount.
12) can this stop the refinance?

(FYI: yes, we saw a lawyer, he stated he could do nothing in the state of washington, all has to be handled through florida, even though washington state has now decided to open a NEW child support case here. our only option is to hire a lawyer in Florida... yea right. Id have no idea where to start.

I love short ,sweet, to the point answers, almost as much as you love those types of questions.
