Short Sale vs Foreclosure

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

I am trying to sell my home in a Short Sale, but am wondering if I should just let it go into foreclosure auction. I plan on filing bankruptcy soon after I am out of the house, but not sure if I will still be liable for any losses for the home. Which option would benefit me, short sale or foreclosure.

Do you believe that you won't be able to pay your other bills even if you no longer have a house payment?
