The roofer still has not been forthcoming in the requested documentation, nor have they finished what they agreed to do. We have witheld payment because I feel that they are not done. They have since contacted our friends, whom we got the referral through, and told them that we have not paid our bill and that they are in the process of filing a lien on the house and that they are going to forclose on our house and take our property. I have a real problem with a business contacting our friends and discussing things like this. Word is going around, and now two other families know that we did not pay the roofer. I know this because they called me to find out why I did not pay the roofer. They do not have the whole story and now we look like we are trash and do not pay our bills. I don't know what to do now.
