Transfering names on mortgage


What is the name of your state? AZ

We are currently are leasing the property, the owner is willing to let us take over ownership of the property by assmuming the mortgage payment which we already make. there are other liens, back taxes, etc. What is the easiest way of tranfering the mortgage over us?

There is only one way and that is to contact the mortgage company.

Is this mortgage even an assumable mortgage? If not, chances are your not going to assume it. If it is, the mortgage company decides if you are qulaified or not.

And assuming that you are using a closing attorney, make sure a title search is performed to ensure that you will receive clear title and that the liens are cleared up before you take possession.
