This way or that?

What is the name of your state? MN

We are currently looking at reinstating our mortgage either through the collection lawyer or Wells Fargo Home Mortgage before the foreclosure sale date of Jan. 19.

which way is a better way and how will each way look on our credit report? Does it matter?

Through WFHM - they offered us a reinstatement program to start with a down payment and then 2 other payments due monthy to get us back on track to our normal mortgage payment. Through this program it will cost us: $11,207.79

Through the program that the lawyer offers it costs us: $8,308.66

We're not quite sure why it is costing so much to reinstate the loan/mortgage through WFHM as opposed to the collection lawyer.

Which way would be best to handle this and does it matter how it is reported on our credit report?

We are seriously confused by the difference in amounts here.

Is the Atty offering the exact same arrangements?

The mortgage company has probably applied the Atty fees in association with the actions they have taken to collect on the loan and the Atty will come up with them somewhere along the line, did you ask the Mortgage company why the discrepancy? The Atty?

Not much help for the credit report, unless it is incorrectly reported by all parties concerned, except to get back on track.

Why so far behind and can you really afford the house or do you need to face reality and sell and buy within your means?

Why

That is our next move, to ask the lawyer why such a huge difference in amounts. This paperwork came directly from WFHM to the lawyer with these figures on it. When you talk the customer service specialists at WFHM they are very limited in their knowledge of the figures. They just plunk some financial information into the system and it throws out the numbers I quoted in my previous quote.?.?.?

It has been a rough year for our family.

My husband was diagnosed with Leukemia in early July. Medical bills have been outrageous.

His prognosis is great and we are looking forward to getting back on track with this.

We are not in over our heads, just had some overwhelming medical expenses along with 2 surgeries.

Not to mention that our septic system ended up flooded and we had to spend thousands getting the property hooked up to city sewer and water.

Now that our Insurance has finally gotten on the ball and started to cover things we will be able to get this taken care of.

Good luck sounds like you are due a break! Glad your husband is doing so well.
