What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? belews creek n.c. my father pass 9yrs ago, he financed a double wide trailer for my sister and her 2 kids .she was making payments and the mortgage company had her listed as the occupant. two years or so after my dad died. no insurance or anything.we contacted thecompany to see if he maybe had insurance on this loan . no , so we proceeded to let them know about this and could my sister be on loan . they said no ,just to continue to make payments and they would leave this as is.. now this is what i(her sister) do not understand,no one can claim interest or anything else,also my sister has now missed a few payment due to the bad economy .so what can she do she wants to continue to live in thetrailer but cannot have any legal rights to it. also the property it sets on belongs to my brother. its not attached to the trailer screwed up huh

Making payments on it or being obligated to make those payments isn't directly related. The estate needed to be probated to transfer it into her name. If this had been done, she could have deducted the payments.
