We're in the middle of major construction/renovation on an 100 year frame house in Brooklyn. There is an empty lot next to our house which a development company owns and is planning on putting in a playground sometime in the next year. We need access to the lot to put up scaffolding so we can finish the side of our house.

We have had major weather delays, problems with our contractor, and are now in the situation where the development company is telling us we need to vacate the lot in one week, because "there are insurance and liability issues with
having your scaffolding and your contractor doing work on our site".

Our contractor is licesnsed and insured, and we are looking at bringing in another licensed and insured subcontractor to finish the siding to help it get done faster.

What are our options?
