Change to a EasementWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NC How can you change a easement? My easement says I have to give 50 foot and I want to change this too 25 feet. The other landowner that this easement is for agrees to allow me to do this or shall I say we come to a agreement. I will allow him to asphault his access. What are the steps that are not that expensive because at this time I am on disiability. Scott |

| You would need to record the revised easement and record an agreement terminating/restricting the old one. A Real estate lawyer should be able to handle this, but it's not DIY. It should not take many hours, so it should not cost a huge amount (although I realize $500 or $1000 may seem like a huge amount). |

| It would be possible to do this yourself, but based on the spelling mistakes in your original post, I would not recommend it. That's not a criticism by the way; it's just that a legal document must be done correctly to be... well..., legal. Inquire with an attorney and get an estimate before proceeding. Shop around. As drew said, it should not cost more than $500-1000, if that. |

| OP needs to check with local zoning regulations. A 50 foot width easement may be a requirement. |
