What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NJ Can A small Deli Type Store , close & re-open as a bar without notification to adjacent & surrounding property owners (200-250ft) in a small community? Are the Owners/Lic. holders required to apply with the Local Zoning Board due to drastic change in use & operating hours under any NJ code?? The Local Council has approved the transfer of the on site consumption w/ pkge goods plenary #33 Lic. from another bar that had not operated for some time and was outside of the community, to the suddenly closed down deli/store in the community...no one wants a 3rd bar in this small community..all the businesses in this immed. area are by way of variance as it is a pine lands restricted area..Thank-You For any Assistance~

Every township, city, etc... has different zoning rules. Each zoning rule and comprehensive plan defines what a give property can do by right and what they may need an special exception or variance to do. There's nowhere near enough detail to answer here. You might talk to the planning department of whatever municipality this is and ask them. If you don't get a useful answer, perhaps you and other affected neighbors should band together and obtain the services of a land use attorney.
