What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida
We live in an unincorporated area on a flag lot behind a neighbor with a house in serious disrepair, junk cars, RV and boat in his yard. Some of these things are violations of county code. We decided to put up a visual barrier by using flowering plants in front of our house (just inside our line) and down the driveway bordering his property rather than confront him about the mess or call code enforcement.. He decided to take offense and has cut all the tree branches that hang on his property (3 acres) off our trees. The trees have been there for 10 years. We realize that he is within his rights to do this, however he has also mowed a swath of our grass and weed whacked between our plants on our side of the line. He is getting increasingly agressive in his behaviour when out in his yard (shouting obsenities and using the chain saw very liberally on the trees. We also believe he has been near to our house at nighttime, deliberately leaving things on our front porch. However, we cannot prove that. :( We don't want the situation to deteriorate any further. What can we do?

Check out what the laws are for video recording your own land and setup a camera trained on your front porch(video only no sound) and if record a few times of stuff being left on your porch. If it is him every time turn it over to the proper law enforcement and let them deal with it(also place no trespassing signs on your property).

Put up a temporary fence with the drive in stakes, and welded wire. That stops the neighbor with a physical barrier from mowing your property, and place the no trespassing signs where they are visible.
If the neighbor complains to a legal agency about your fence, make sure you have pictures dated, that show your reason for placing the fence, and the things that the neighbor has done.
The video of your front area is excellent to show evidence of the neighbor trespassing after the signs are posted.
