What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state?

California

We live on a dead-end street in San Francisco. As a result, our driveway is constantly being used as a turn-around and drop-off point by our neighbors and other lost souls.

Q:

Can we legally demand that our neighbors not use our driveway (which is part of the city sidewalk) and would it be legal to put a plastic speed bump at the entrance to our driveway to discourage it's use? Another option is to purchase a driveway blocker such as the one at this link: http://www.parkingzone.com/llp.cfm?TPL=PZ_ProductDetail.tpl&ProductID=2485
but I wonder whether the city would allow such a device on our driveway/sidewalk?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

Thanks much,

Brad

I live on a cul du sac, and some neighbors have posts placed on either side of driveway, with a decorative chain that they can hook across the bottom of their drive, and easilly move when they enter and exit. This keeps people out of their drive when their kiddos are skating or scootering on it.
