What is the name of your state? California. We recently bought a home and were told by the previous owners that the current fence is 12 feet on our property, this happened when the fence people came to put the fence in and neither owner was home so they just EYEBALLED it, so they say! Well we are wondering if we get our property surveyed and the fence is 12 feet or any feet on our property what can we do? Do we have a leg to stand on? By the way these houses and the fence line are only about three years old. Any advice will help!!!!

Well the fence dudes shouldn't of created this mess for you. But now that the deed is done, you best be getting a survey of your property to see where the property lines actually an legally are. Then once the stakes are in the ground, follow through with taking down the fence an placing it on your property or maybe if its on his property, then he might try an claim that fence being his own. But first get that survey done pronto. Once you find out where the actual property line is, then get back to us, an I think someone here will be able to anser your query with more details. Good luck !!!
