Neighbor cut down my tree

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

This is kind of a long question. due to a bad storm a branch was blowen off of my tree on to my neighbors property. My husban was out of town so I figured we would clean it up when he got home. Of course my neighbor couldn't wait. Cut it up and threw it back on to our proptery. That was fine. Then the next day came over when we where not home and cut the whole tree down. was not happy about it and told him he should of asked us first. he became verbally abusive. Called police and made an incident report. the following weekend he took the tree and threw it on to our dock ramp blocking us from getting off our boat. Again called the police who did nothing. They told me to send him a no trespass letter. Which I did registered. So my question is When he comes on my property and the police still do nothing what can I do. I feel threatened by him. He has verbally threatened my daughter, threw stuff all over her car. Also has made a gun motion with his hands at me and acted like he was shooting.

If your question was what can you do, the answer is, get a lawyer.

If you had a different question, I didn't understand it.

Your neighbors may have trespassed and may also owe you damages for the tree.

I have witness to him cutting down my tree and yes he's so dumb he admitts it. So basically what you are saying is I can sure him for the tree. What about harresment? If I have pictures of him on my property why won't the police inforce my no trespassing? Seems like he can do whatever. Where are my rights?

This is a civil matter.

Hire that lawyer.

If you pay someone to remove that dead tree - you can add that cost to your lawsuit (as well as the replacement cost of a new tree of the same size)
