Neighbor Stereo Noise from outside patio

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California

Hi, first off I live in a house not an apartment. There is no HOA in the neighborhood I live in. I have a neighbor that owns his home next door to me. The neighbor plays his stereo outside on his patio in his backyard almost every evening and all day on Saturday and Sunday from 10am till 10pm. I am subjected to hear his music coming into my doors and windows especially the bass. It seems that he drinks in the evenings and invites his adult sons over (they all drink) and the music is turned up as well as their loud voices. My back door and windows are about 60 feet from their radio/stereo by the way. I'm going crazy having to hear the same thing over and over. My husband is really passive and it doesn't bother him. But I find my neighbor so rude and inconsiderate. This has been going on for the last 3 months.

I did approach my neighbors the 1st week when I heard the radio playing outside and asked if they could please turn down the bass and what they said to me was "Stop being a predator and we have a different lifestyle than you!"

Please advise if I'm being unrealistic. I get so sick to my stomach these days and I can feel myself getting very depressed not being able to enjoy my home.

I have read our city ordinance and the quiet time starts at 10pm.

Thanks for your time regarding this matter.

You have the option to complain to the cops if you would like but since they quite down after 10pm I don’t think you will have much luck.

You do have to remember that they have just as much right to enjoy their house as much as you do. I think you would be better off looking for home improvements that will eliminate some of the sound coming into your house.

Complain every time they make noise.

Who cares what they think.

Try to provoke them into a confrontation. ADD: being racially / ethnically inflammatory helps

Plants

Well, I am going to plant some tall shrubs/hedges against the fence to see if that helps eventually to reduce the noise factor. But I still find it ridiculous to have a fiesta every weekend and that's what is sounds like.

It's so mind boggling!
