Is opening screen door only trespassing

Can politician or solicitor, vendor legally open my screen door to leave card, flyer, etc? What are my rights as a homeowner?

Generally, yes they can. It could be argued they are not if the main door is open. Put up No Trespassing signs.

You REALLY think the local prosecutor is going to waste time and money prosecuting vendors, sales folks, and politicians exercising their First Amendment rights????

If you do not want people approaching your door or opening the screen, erect a small fence controlling access to your door, lock it, and lock that screen door as well.
