What is the name of your state? Iowa
We have neighbor that is claiming an area of our yard is his.
He has enclosed an area of our yard with landscape timbers. He
has put plants in this area. The landscape timbers were placed
next to the pave driveway. He has a wood privacy fence in the back yard
that was put in over 20 years ago. The fence is where the proper line should be.
We had our property surveyed last summer. He called the police on the surveyor accusing him of trespassing. The surveyor was in the alley. The neighbor has removed the surveyors marker and has cemented a rock over where the marker should be. If the police are called out the neighbor will always bring up the property line. The neighbor place plywood at an angle on our property to block any snow from getting on his air conditioner and furnace pipes, when the driveway was cleared out. Since his gas meter his on the north side of his house he will clear all the snow from that side of the house. If we have used the snowblower, and any snow has gotten on his property he will call the police. Remember part of this area next to the driveway belongs to us. We were told that we could not remove the boards or his plants from our property. The police told us that he would arrest us. The police officer was told that the property has been surveyed and he more or less called us liars. This neighbor would take his garden tractor with a blade and remove snow from his yard and pile it on the city parking making it hard to back out of the driveway. The street is one way. After complaining to the city they came out and removed the snow. The neighbor yelled and said that it wasn't over yet.
This neighbor also has a camera pointed at our driveway. There are no windows on the north side of his house.

The police are not surveyors.

If your neighbor is encroaching on your property, you will need to proceed against him in a civil court. Contact a local attorney. Once you obtain a court order allowing you to remove the trespass, then you can do so.

I agree. get an attorney and have a letter sent that states you had the property surveyed ( which you did) and that he is encroaching and give him so many business days ( like 10) to remove him things or you will remove them and have him billed for the cost of doing it, That should take care of the problem.
