My neighbor has a fenced back yard. I want one as well. My HOA says that if I want to tie my fence into his, I will need his written permission. I wasn't pleased to hear this since he doesn't seem like the rule abiding type. Anyway, I typed up a memorandum stating that he grants me permission to tie into his fence, and I gave it to him to sign. When he brought it back to me signed, I noticed that the signature looked like something my 2-year-old scribbled on there. Will this hold up if he complains that I did not get his permission first? (His name is typed on the memo elsewhere.) Thanks.
