Approximately 14 years ago, our elderly neighbor planted "decorative seedling shrubs" on our property, (just over the line). When questioned, she said it was the property line and they would be small. So, we didn't do much about it until they grew, (6'X5') and growing! To the point that we couldn't even maintain our property without getting injured! It denied us access to our gas line on the side of our porch (3' from property line), maintenance to 30' of our home, etc. Then damage began to occur as our porch spindles, rail, etc, rotted; decorative fence fell down, etc. Being very tolerable neighbors, we did what we could in the maintenance dept. and waited until she passed away to remove them. (no family in area). Neighbors told us that she waited for us to leave for work before coming onto our property, including our porch to maintain the shrubs. For the last 5 years, our side then became our responsibility! Well the long lost daughter shows up,files a law suit, then had the property surveyed with(shrubs gone). I took pictures before and after the shrubs were removed and of the damage. Is there a PA law that you cannot deny someone access to their property? Lawsuit or not, we had to have them removed for our safety and to maintain our property. Our repair work was well over $2,500 and she wants $1,400 for the bushes. She has deep pockets! To us, it's the principle!

Actually, you could have been triming the shrubs on your side of the property the entire 14 years.
