| | Accepting Credit Cards What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
Not sure if this is the correct forum topic to be posting this, but I was wondering what laws there are on retaining credit cards in a database. For example, do they have do be encrypted, or can you not do it at all?
Thanks. |

| | | There isn't any "law" to speak of. The contract you have with your credit card processor will spell out the specific requirements. For instance the CVV2 numbers you aren't supposed to store at all, etc... |
