Question

Current renter of former address stole package addressed to me!

What is the name of your state? Indiana

I apologize in advance if this isn't the correct forum to post this question but I really need some advice! I moved from a rental house three weeks ago, and different people moved in. I ordered something online, and it was inadvertantly shipped to my former address. FedEx showed it as being delivered, so I went to my former residence and asked the man for the package that had been delivered for me. He said that he'd called FedEx that morning to come pick it up since I didn't live there anymore, and it was gone by the time I arrived (5:30 pm). FedEx has no record of the call nor of the re-routing nor an order for the driver to pick up the package. How do I move forward in getting my package returned to me? I'm pretty sure they have it - it is over $100 worth of health and beauty products. Do I have any recourse at all? I have notified Fed Ex and the shipper of the issue, but to no avail.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Did Fed-Ex deliver it to a person or simply leave it on the porch? Have you considered filing a police report for theft?

FedEx did just leave it on the porch. I did consider filing a report with the police, but these people strike me as the kind that would retaliate and that concerns me since they know my name and probably my new address, yet I don't even know their names. FedEx is supposed to have the driver on that route call me, so when he/she does, I will have further proof, or perhaps, maybe, possibly good news! I just want to know what my options are.

Unless you're gifting the new renters, you file theft report with police.

Funny...

Having a fair amount of experience with FedEx, I think it's far more likely that FedEx DID pick it up and lost it in their system!

I agree that could have happened. FeEx is notorious for losing packages. We use them at my company and sometimes the packaged just seem to vanish from the face of the earth and when you call them, they are absolutely NO help.
