| |  help with advise, I bought an IKEA bed
What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA
Question:
I bought a bed from Craigslist. In the ad it was mentioned that the new bed like this one cost $1548.99 and it was sold at $749, it was in " like new condition".
There was a link to IKEA store page and the price on it was$1548.99
After I bought the bed, I passed by the IKEA store and saw the price of a new bed was $899 and not $1548.99
I then pulled the ad, since I saved it and went back to the link provided. It happened so that this link was of Canadian IKEA store with price in Canadian $$. There were no word Canada on the page, I just found it out by looking at the link with the stored near by and they were all in Canada.
Is it something legal to mislead like that? Was the person supposed to tell me that this price was in Canadian $$ and not US $$?
They implied that they wanted to sale at 50% price. Is anyone can do that?
Can I sue that person? What can I do about it.
By the way, the bed is not in a new condition ether, it has multiple stains.

You should have examined the bed before you bought it if you are going to complain about stains. As for the "misleading" price, you still got the bed for about $150 American dollars off, so thats not too shabby. It's not really misleading you becasue it's your responsibility as a buyer to look these things over before making a decision. If you were more attentive to details you would see that the Canadian Ikea link has a ca in the adress. So in a nutshell, no, you have no legal grounds to sue because you didn't pay close enough attention. |
