    OT - Giving thanks

    What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? NY

    I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving and to say how grateful I am to participate in this excellent online community for so many years.

    I am sure many other members feel the the same way I do about the opportunity to provide consumers with valuable help in an active and lively forum.

    Happy Thanksgiving to you too, Xy, and to everyone else!

    I never grew up with Thanksgiving so I don't celebrate it... but I recognise it's significance in the country that I live, the importance to those who have grown with it's tradition and the meaning to so many. With that;

    I offer thanks to those who celebrate the day of when the settlers were shown compassion and assistance in their dire time of need. And those who, today, sit with their families and friends to reflect on who they are, and why they are important to them.

    In many ways this forum is very 'native-to-settler' relationship. To echo xylene, kellyann, HomeGuru and (I am sure) many others;
    When those who need help- without the 'guilty-but-tell-me-an-excuse-to-get-me-out-of-it' post - are offered the wisdom and experience from such a broad range of personalities... it is in hope that the assistance helps and educates to help their fellow human (Is that the correct P.C. term from 'fellow man' ).

    Enjoy the day- and the start of the Christmas Season (or Channukah, or Yule, or Kwanzaa, or however you reflect on the 'holiday-time').

    And in the same spirit, a moment of silence and a lifted glass to Jetx, Pattytx, and those other members who passed on.
    Two things I am tired of typing: 1.) A wrongful termination does not mean that you were fired for something you didn't do; it means that you were fired for a reason prohibited by law. 2.) The above answer, whatever it is, assumes that no legally binding contract or CBA expressly says otherwise. If it does, the terms of the contract apply.

    I'm a little late here but I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving Day & counted their blessings.
    Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. Leo Buscaglia
