Memorial Day should be a day of reflection and remembrances; not one of 'happy' and jubilation.

Memorial Day is the day to remember the brave men and women who have given their lives in defense of this country and its ideas, not shop at the local hardware store for bargains.

Memorial Day is for somber reflection, not celebrations.

These heroes are dead. They died for liberty - they died for us. They are at rest. They sleep in the land they made free, under the flag they rendered stainless, under the solemn pines, the sad hemlocks, the tearful willows, and the embracing vines. They sleep beneath the shadows of the clouds, careless alike of sunshine or of storm, each in the windowless Place of Rest. Earth may run red with other wars - they are at peace. In the midst of battle, in the roar of conflict, they found the serenity of death. I have one sentiment for soldiers living and dead: cheers for the living; tears for the dead. ~Robert G. Ingersoll

Actions have consequences. Remember Newton's Third Law of Motion in everything you do.

I agree with you but I also agree that there is some time to celebrate. In my family we do both. My older brother is currently serving his second tour in Irag as SGT. in a Psyop and things are still going alright (so far) and to us thats something to celebrate. But while he was on his first tour lost several of his guys which to this day still haunts him. We take a somber moment to remember those men (some of which we knew personally) as well as the others who didnt make it home. We take a somber moment to realize that this is a day to honor those who have fallen not just during this war but all the others that have been fought to keep our country free. We remember all the other members of our family who also served to keep this country what it is. But we also take a moment to celebrate the ones that did serve their country and made it home safe. We dont go shopping for bargains but instead take the time to get our family together (which is almost impossible during the majority of the time) and honor this day for what it is with both the good and the bad.

If you cannot have a criminal record, then don't commit criminal acts - seems simple enough.
