Thank you for the ride

It's interesting I feel the need to write, but it shows that this forum is a community to those who post regularly. I'm going to have to say goodbye and good luck to the community as events in my life have severely cut into my leisure time. When working I need to work and when resting...I'll need to work--at least for a time. I will miss the discussion and debate. I consider many of you my friends.

Let me tell a story as to why and to give the forum one last wisdom. Being a private person I'm not going to share it all, but will give a sense to you. My wife has breast cancer. We treated it and even though it had spread when we found it, the full range of weapons available were used and it seemed like magic happened. Two completely clear PET scans six months apart and we were on our way. We went to the doctor on Monday for a wrist injury she got playing video games (Careful of the Wii.) and told him of how she has been bumping into door jambs for the last week. He did a couple of pull-my-finger-type tests and felt there was an unequal strength and sent us to the emergency room. The tests and events lead to my wife having brain surgery yesterday. The surgery went great and the radiology oncologist has high hopes, especially since my wife is more stubborn than I--which is saying a lot.

I ask for your prayers, or your positive energy if you don't believe, and in return I'll give you hard-won wisdom:

Live each day as hard as you can.

tranquility

Tranquility - I have not been posting on this forum for very long, but in the short time I have, I have come to appreciate your words of wisdom and your humor. I send you my prayers and my positive energy, and will take your parting words of wisdom to heart.
Very good luck to you and your wife.

Wishing you well

Hi Tranq,
Sorry to hear of the chain of events in your (& wifey's) life. Absolutely, I'm sending my prayers to you and Him (or Her?). I'm kind of going through the diagnosis stage of a small spot on my lung & am finding out about the frustrations, periods of waiting, numerous tests, scans, cost, etc. Not even close to what your wife is going through, just trying to say I know a very little bit of what she went through. Strength to her & you. Been a pleasure cyberknowing you.

Wow, tranq. It appears that you all went to the doc, and then the emergnecy room in time. But, in any case, I wish both of you the best, and will sincerely pray for your family. And, I DO appreciate the post, the update, and the bit of wisdom.

I to give you my prayers. What you are going through is very difficult, and your family comes before the internet anyday.

All the best to you and your wife.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

Best wishes and thank you for sharing your situation. Its nice to know you and yours are fighting and that you have places to turn to for support.

I hope you can still come back and slam anyone who is desperately deserving it.

Farewell,

X

You have my prayers and positive energy, tranquility. Please let your wife know that some strange woman in North Carolina she's never heard of is thinking about her

I think that's what I was trying to say clt, but you put it more succinctly(sp). Although usually only my kids think I'm strange, there is a complete stranger in Santa Cruz wishing you & your wife the best. Just a lil way of keeping it bumped for our evening members (yeah, I'm self employed, so I get to play when I want!). All the best.

Here's hoping for the best for you and your wife. I have been in your shoes and know the battles that lie ahead. Be strong for your wife on the bad days and and celebrate the good days. We hope for a triumphant return, sooner rather than later. God bless, Mark....
