Contract Law

I had a written contract on a vehicle with my ex-fiancee. The vehicle has been repossessed and I was stuck with the debt owed to the collectors. We both were on the loan for the vehicle but because he didn't have any means of financial income I was stuck with the entire bill. Am I entitled to sue or go after him for at least half of the debt that was paid?

I'm sure if you would put your post in the Debt Collections section instead of the Open Technical Issues and Requests - NOT LEGAL QUESTIONS section you would get an answer.
