My wishlist would include changing the name of this particular forum from "Open Issues". It seems to invite posts for everything under the sun. I guess for lazy posters who can't bother to look for a more appropriate forum in the list, every issue is "an open issue".

Something like "Open Technical Issues" would be better and could reduce the number of misdirected posts.

That is true, however, many use the "open issues" to update the board involving other members of the board.

Thanks admin for taking the time to involve us.

My suggestion is to allow people to click on a screen name to view posting history. It would help everyone in saving their time trying to advise a troll.

In fact, you are so astonishingly correct in this matter, it will not surprise us one bit if you are offered a generous settlement, because, by golly, that’s just how it should be.

Or, to avoid having to go to the profile and pull it up from there, click on the little dot to the right of the poster's name. Then move your mouse down the box that pops up to highlight the different shortcuts. "Find all posts by" is the third one down.

I'm not a techy person, so please forgive me.....

I can no longer get to the complete "Free Advice" list of forums after being in one of the lower folders unless I click on my shortcut. For instance, if I'm in "Debt Collections" I can only go up one folder to "Bankruptcy and Consumer Credit" and not continue going up one folder to the "Free Advice" master folder.

Old threads

Is there any way to lock or otherwise disallow someone from posting on an old thread, say anything about two to four months old? We're getting new people who are bringing back threads several years old. I think some of the boards have figured out a way to do this.

Internet Explorer has a free "spell check" add-on for your tool bar. Google "IE Spell Check" for the link to the download. It's an auto-install that only takes a few seconds, and it will work on any web page you visit. If you use a browser other than IE, it probably has one too.

Welcome, hon. But if you put it on your forehead you're going to need a mirror by your computer. And you'll have to write the note backwards.
