LOL.... it's not for ME - it's for these goobers who don't / can't / won't even spell single syllable words correctly! I just copied your instructions into a note. Don't be surprised if you see it in one of the postings.

But, thanks for the link anyway.... you just never know.

That feature is native in FireFox 2 & 3.
Per Mozilla:
"By default, Firefox is configured to automatically check spelling. You can turn it off in the OptionsPreferences window:

1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
2. Select the Advanced panel.
3. Click the General tab.
4. Select Check my spelling as I type.
5. Click OKClose the preferences window. "

I can no longer get to the complete "Free Advice" list of forums after being in one of the lower folders unless I click on my shortcut. For instance, if I'm in "Debt Collections" I can only go up one folder to "Bankruptcy and Consumer Credit" and not continue going up one folder to the "Free Advice" master folder.
Yes, somehow the link that is supposed to be at the top of each page for the forum index has disappeared. Please fix this! In the meantime, CL, you can use the link in the tan bar at the VERY top of the page (above the logo) for "Law Forum". But the forum index link is more intuitive.

This has been updated. Thanks for your input.

Thank you.

And, in the Elder Law section, please change Living Wills to Advanced Health Care Directives. I forgot to request this with the other changes. Posters confuse Living Wills with Last Will & Testament.

In the future when I have more time, I may suggest a "sticky" similar to what Ohiogal has done with approprate language for Probate/Wills/Elder Law section(s).

Blondie,

OG wrote it, so maybe if you write/draft it, it will come. Once you post it, then try and report it and ask for it to become a sticky.

I liked the way it was last week where I could go to all the forums and see what was last done and whatnot.

but what if the original poster comes back to give us an update or to follow up with more questions on the same issue?

Thanks again, i like this very much, works great on my blackberry.

two things for consideration:

1) I dont see where i can veiw "new posts" or "todays posts" i have to go into each forum individually. however that is much easier to do now.

2) I can't seem to log in or to be able to post replies. but hey i really dont need to be replying from my BB anyway.

Thanks again.

These new banner ads that are 728px width and the first page that you must click 'SKIP AD' are way too intrusive. Large banners should be no more that 640px width.

There are many more issues but whoever the admin or webmaster is needs to put allot of time in tweaking this site using products from vbulletin.org

Members with over so many posts should be exempt from ads. I operate 2 large vbulletins and would not be caught doing what is going on here now.

There are rewrite links, small category banners, ads only to members under a certain ct of posts or no posts, and many more plugins which can be applied. Also spammers can be put to rest if you invest some time or hire a webmaster that will.

Hyperlinks

Can you make the hyperlinks active? We currently have to copy and paste the URL instead of just clicking on the link.

Maybe it has to be this way because of the spammers. If that's the reason - that's fine. I don't want to make it easy for them to get hits on their sites before they get banished. But, if Tallrat's suggestion works maybe we can get active links again.

There are only a few reason they are not allowing outside sites (want to keep the audience here) or do not want the site you are taken to, to know the redirect was from here.

Both of these things can be easily by circumvented, by..., 1. set vb to open a link in a new window (I do this) and 2. use a script which MASKS the URL redirect. Thus any site click on has no idea it was a link here at freeadvice.

Also as I stated spammers can be dealt with. Right now I fell like I'm being spammed on this site by all the unnecessary huge ads. There are ways to do things covertly and non intrusively. Also consider persons using smaller screen resolutions (so there is no left to right scroll)

Something like "Open Technical Issues" would be better and could reduce the number of misdirected posts.

--> ok done - Thanks for the suggestion.
