Help finding IAAL lawsuit info?

I was reading about the IAAL lawsuit over a year ago.... never found out what happened with it all. The url www.freeadvice.com/iaal is no longer valid.

So what happened? Anywhere we can read about this?

There is an active suit (I think) going on...You could try contacting Admin and asking the status...

He was banned about 1000 times...Some of the filthy user names directed at Ldij and M M a rtin were deplorable!! Several of my posts were used in evidence against him...He claimed that a nutty paralegal at his firm "stole" him user name and committed the crimes...

Free Advice had a dedicated page online that was showing all of the progress.

Back when I was paying attention to it, they were trying to find his identity. Then he hired a lawyer that was representing him, and requested to keep his identity completely secret.

It turned out that HE was the lawyer, and was actually representing himself. I guess people he told were calling into FreeAdvice and telling them the full story.

It was just really entertaining to see a dumbass get called out and sued by a website. Clearly the person deserved it, it was just great watching FA follow through with everything.

Not sure what happened with it all though..

FreeAdvice.com Seeks Help from Internet Community to Find Obscene Abuser of Legal Forums

FreeAdvice.com is asking the Internet community to help find “IAAL” or “I Am Always Liable” who has posted thousands of harassing, threatening, and obscene messages and graphics on the FreeAdvice Forum. Many of the offending messages were personally directed against other users of the Forum.

After posting tens of thousands of generally useful messages since he or she first registered on the Forum in January, 2000, IAAL, who at various times claimed to be a California-based attorney, inexplicably began a series of hostile attacks on forum visitors late in 2005. He or she routinely used sexually abusive language and threats, often directed against other users or staff members of FreeAdvice.com, sometimes with offensive descriptions of female anatomy and vindictive remarks against women.

FreeAdvice.com has zero tolerance for abuse and those who prey on the Internet community. FreeAdvice worked hard to remove inappropriate postings immediately on discovering them, and our staff spent months attempting to create technological fixes to keep IAAL off the site.

On June 29, 2006, FreeAdvice.com filed a lawsuit against IAAL in Superior Court, Marin County, California, and on June 30, 2006, that court issued a Temporary Restraining Order against IAAL, enjoining him from using FreeAdvice.com or any of the other websites maintained by its parent, Advice Company. Copies of the key litigation papers are posted on this website, and full copies are available on request. A hearing was scheduled for Monday, July 17, 2006, on FreeAdvice.com’s request for a Preliminary Injunction before Judge James Ritchie in San Rafael.

On July 13, 2006 Robert A. Koenig, Esq., an attorney with offices in Agoura Hills, California, appeared as counsel for IAAL in the court action, but Mr. Koenig has refused to disclose his client’s real identity. Mr. Koenig has stipulated to continue the Temporary Restraining Order in effect. Judge Ritchie has scheduled the hearing for 1:30 P.M. on July 31, 2006 in San Rafael, California. FreeAdvice is represented in the litigation by Robert F. Knox, Esq. of Mill Valley, California, and Advocate Law Group P.C. of Irvine, California.

If you suspect that you know who IAAL is, please contact FreeAdvice at 415-331-1212, extension 234, email abuse@adviceco.com.

The whole situation is kinda sad, if ya ask me. At one time, he was a VERY valued member of this community. He offered very knowledgeable/insightful advice to those visiting the board. Sure, he made some comments that could be construed as rude, but so have most of us. But, apparently, I guess, just one day he snapped and turned into a completely different person. I wonder what happened to him to cause such a change.

I wholeheartedly miss his "dumbest post of the year" nominations!

It started with his sig line, which was a rude hand gesture. M removed it and he put it back...he got banned. He can back and put the sig back. He got banned again and lost his post count. That is what enraged him...That he had to "start over". Like a spoiled little boy he was.

We can also thank him for the Brazil Solution.

It was weird... for the longest time he was an great contributor. Then he flipped and became super potty mouth.

I thought he turned out to be a paralegal???

BTW - we quit calling him by name. The reference is "he who shall not be named". I'm surprised this post has stayed up and open for so long.

i remember reading an article that there WAS a lawyer, but he was claiming his paralegal hijacked his username and THAT was the person being crude.

which would account for the sudden change of character.

i was actually hoping M. would address this thread, or admin. i kind of want to know just for the pure nosiness factor.

The last thing I remember reading was that he was a paralegal and I think his first name may have been Peter.

Even when he was behaving himself, he was a jerk. He thought he was king here.
