I want to host a rave in an open field but im not certain on the liabilities concerning people in general. If i was to get my lawyer to draw up waivers would that be a sufficient? we want to have camping, and a beer gardens. any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

You are not certain about where to post either...I guess it must be those drugs being used at rave parties

Since you are posting in the ' Open Technical Issues and Requests (Not Legal Questions)' section, I can only assume you are having trouble connecting to the internet from the open field.

That is actually a very common problem. There is often no internet connection in an open field. If a farmer nearby happens to have a wireless router, ask him or her if you can use it for your event. You can also try an aircard. How is the cell phone coverage in that field? How many bars?

Would that “open field” encompass a country mile?

Because that is how far you’re going to have your neck stuck out.

A person cannot contract away liability for his or her own negligence. Consequently assumption of risk and waiver forms would most likely be worthless. Particularly so with regard to minors who are likely to arrive in swarms.

**A: the liability would be greater than a country mile in this case.
