Ok, this may be a stupid question...but I need to know anyway. I live with my aunt and uncle, they adopted me because my mother died and for while I was too much of a handful for my alchoholic father and his wife to handle. Albeit, I haven't been easy on them either, I have tried to make improvements. My uncle found a bottle of prescription pills missing which I did not take and flipped out and claims that I tried to hit my aunt. After being abused for the majority of my life, I have never attempted to hit another person but the way in which he 'restrained' me left me with three welts on my arms and numerous bruises on my arms and legs. I ended up punching a hole in the wall out of fear and frustration this being the most violent thing I've ever done in my life. All I want to do now is leave, this being the final straw in a string of absurd rules and accusations, down to me being screamed at and accused for moving a bottle of mouthwash (which I I did not move). I have epilepsy so I can't leave right away, I need to sign up for medicaid first, but my aunt said that if I took any of my belongings with me, including the clothes on my back that she would call the police and have them arrest me for theft. I need to know if she can actually do this. I've lived here for three years so I've accumulated quite a bit of stuff as gifts, things I've bought myself, etc. And I am an adult.
I just don't know what to do. |
