subpoena rights

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? MA

I just got a subponea from a company I worked for 8 years ago. It has a day but no time. I have to work and have 2 children to take care of, who pays for childcare and my time away from work. What if it goes for more than a day? can you let me know my rights? Thanks
