Unemployment Insurance.. accrued vacation

I am in Georgia.
Surprised there was no section for unemployement insureance eitehr on the Insurance Law or Employement Law.

Here's my question.

In Georgia severance pay does delay eligiablity for unemployment insurance benifiits. Does pay for accrued vacation delay eligiablity, also?

georgia/accrued vacation pay

In response to your question, no, in Georgia, accrued vacation pay does not affect your claim. It should NOT be reported as wages on your weekly certification. You should, however, mention it to the person who takes your claim initially, just to be straight and cover your bases, but it will not be as interesting to them as severance pay or wages in lieu of notice, as they will not be reducing your claim because of it.

The best source of information about any unemployment claim is the Department of Labor in any state. But always go ahead and file the first week you are unemployed, even though you are receiving severance or any kind of payments, so you can get it established and know when you will be able to start your weekly benefits.
