What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? This is a crime occurring in WA state. My husband committed multiple armed robberies in 2002. His weapons were either a gun or a knife. He was sentenced first for each robbery then separately for each weapon, the guns 5yrs ea, knives 2yrs each. This seems redundant to both of us as robbery vs armed robbery carries a different sentencing guideline/time frame. How is it that you can be charged for armed robbery (time sentenced includes the fact that a weapon was involved vs. not involved) then turn around and be sentenced for just having a weapon?? He is actually going to serve more time for the weapon enhancements than for the actual robberies. Is there a way to have these weapons enhancements dropped?

Of course there is! It's pretty simple, too. Just set your time machine to 2002 and tell him not to carry any weapons while committing his felonies. (Beyond that, if he's already sentenced, you're out of luck.)
