Arrest expungement

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

I have read 20 ILCS 2630/5.2 and I am wanting to join the Border Patrol but my arrest can never really be expunged since I am wanting to get into law enforcement. Is this correct? Any law enforcement agency can still access this record when doing a back ground investigation?

You betcha. Did the application ask about crimes, "even if expunged or set aside?"
The standard Science Fiction 171 form excludes those but if there is a background investigation questionnaire it may ask.
