I was recently arrested for supposedly writing in wet cement on the street (criminal damage to property). Does anyone know the usual penalties that accompany a conviction for something like this? I would fight it but just don't have the time.

I have no record and am a contributing member of society etc. etc.

Contributing member of society? Even stray dogs are contributing memebers of society... :D You will most likely get a fine or maybe a little community service depending how you handle yourself in court and how good a mood the judge is in.
