I do volenter work for a thrift store.
A woman came in the store made a purchase and paid it with a check.
Few days later check returned saying the account is closed.
I did some background check on the woman, here is what I learned:
She is on prole from prison.
She was convitected for uttering and publishing two counts and one count of emblellment for amout of 200 to 1000 attempt.
She is held in jail for a retail fraud not from my store but from a differnet store in anther city.
Question is that we know for a fact accout is closed and used an ailiase to write the check. The only reason it was not easy to spot is that one letter of her name was removed. So what is the charge now? Or what is the best step?
