What is the name of your state? GA

Hi people,
I'm a welder who isn't used to legal jargons.

Well, my case is that I tried, as a second job,
cleaning houses and offices in the nights and
weekends, for about six weeks, you know, just
to make some extra money.

Everything was going pretty well, I got my
paycheck from a staffing agency which, by the
way, had a stamped (not by hand) signature;
I went to a check cashing and got my money.

Excellent !! ... So far ...

But, two weeks after, An inspector with about
four policemen broke into my house, took me
to jail and charged me: "Forgery First Degree".

According to them the staffing agency's
manager told them I cashed a bad check.

Now, I of course am not guilty !! and certainly
need a lawyer to help me out in making an argument
as backbone for my defense.

Eventhough, I'd like to know where can I read
at least a very first bibliography about cases
for bad checks so I get better prepared to
meet a lawyer.

In advance thank you so much for your time.

You cashed a check with a stamped name on it at a check cashing place? One would think that if the company was giving bad checks, that they wouldn't exactly report that to the police.

Hi,
as of now, I found out that the signature on the check is the manager's one,
the same who reported this case to the police. Also that the check went through
and there is no problem with it.

But, as you said, there is someone cheating who doesn't want to pay, and/or
pay after so many troubles. You never know ...

For now I think that I have to read something about bad checks in order to meet
an attorney and clear up such a mess.

In advance, Thank you so much for your help!!
