Bought a car...title is not sellers name

I bought a car (NJ) and the title is signed but does not match the sellers name. The title and signature on the back of title match but are not the name of the seller. She said she bought it from someone (person named on title) but did not change the title into her name before selling it to me. VIN number ran and the car is not stollen. What will happen if I turn this person in? Will I get to keep the car and will I get my money back?

Whomever you 'turn this person in' to will tell you it's a civil matter.

You will get one or the other. Not both.
